| 2026 Prize Winners for Painting Competition |

On Saturday 21st March the prizegiving for the Young Arts finalists for the annual Painting Competition took place in Chalfont St Peter Library. It brought together eight excited young winners (First, Second and Third as well as five Best in School), their parents, grandparents, siblings and teachers to celebrate the artwork and see the winners presented with canvasses of their art as well as medals, certificates and badges. Sarah Hampel, our President, made the presentations and Heather Hespe, a committee member joined us for support. A special thank you to the Library who opened specially for the event, who have provided display space for the winning paintings and also a rolling screen display centrally. The schools taking part are Robertswood, Chalfont St Peter CofE Academy, Chalfont St Giles Primary School and St. Mary’s School. Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy had two Best in School winners as we could not decide between them! All the paintings will be returned to the schools this week with a large number of certificates for other worthy participants and a badge for each entrant. The winning paintings can be seen in the Library for the next three weeks and they are also in the Gallery section of the Society website. |

| The Society's association with Chalfonts Community College continues! |

The Arts Society Chiltern & Chalfont were happy to be able to provide a coach to take sixth-formers to the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham on 3rd July. There the students were able to enjoy looking around the Gallery and then sketching or painting the scenes which attracted Stanley Spencer. A successful day! We were also happy to attend the College to present prizes for the best work for the A-level students. Certificates and cash prizes were presented to the top three artists. Congratulations. Photographs of both occasions are in the Gallery on this website. |

| Presentation for 2025 Painting Competition |

On Saturday 29th March we had the finale to The Arts Society Chiltern&Chalfont Young Arts Competition. This is our thirteenth year for the competition and far from being unlucky it produced a full number of great paintings from the four schools taking part - Robertswood School, Chalfont St. Giles Village School, Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy and St. Mary's School. We had more than 500 paintings to judge and invited the deserving winners to the presentation at Chalfont St Peter Library. As usual all winners got canvasses depicting their artwork plus certificates and medals. The winners were in the categories of overall first, second and third as well as a Best in School winner from all four schools and prizes were presented by Sarah Hampel, the President of the Society. All entrants got a badge to commemorate their efforts as well as a range of certificates for Highly Commended, Commended and special awards which have been presented in ceremonies at each individual school. Congratulations to all and photos of the winners and of the presentation are in the Gallery on this website. |

| Young Arts Activities for 2023-2024 |

Young Arts are continuing their cycle of activity in the community with the launch of the Painting Competition for Years 5 & 6 with four local schools - Chalfont St. Peter Academy, Robertswood School, Chalfont St. Giles Primary School and St. Mary's School. This year the subject is 'My Favourite View' and we look forward to seeing some fabulous and fun results. The winning artwork will be displayed in Chalfont St Peter Library in March. Five artworks have been entered for The Arts Society online competition for A-level students and we look forward to seeing the winning artworks online via The Arts Society website in January 2024. In addition we hope to work with Chalfonts Community College to provide materials for their A-level students to provide artwork for display locally - further details to come. Once again a busy year! |

| Recent Young Arts Activities |

Young Arts have been busy promoting our Society in the area. Last weekend saw the culmination of the Young Arts Painting Competition for Years 5 and 6 from four schools in the area - Chalfont St. Peter Academy, Chalfont St Giles Village School, Robertswood and St. Mary's School. There were 550 entries in total from which we chose First, Second and Third as well as Best in School from each of the schools - a hard decision. All entrants received badges; specially commended received certificates and the winners received medals as well as canvasses of their artwork. The prize-giving was in the Chalfont St. Peter Library which was well-attended and a very happy event. In addition to sponsoring the Young Arts Painting Competition, your Society sponsored the purchase of canvasses, paints and display area for the Chalfonts Community College Year 12 students (with the help of grants from The Arts Society London). The artwork was displayed in The Hub, Gold Hill Baptist Church at Chalfont St. Peter last week and the results were stunning as can be seen from the Gallery. |

| RBA Star Students Award |

We are delighted to say that one of the entries that we put forward for the above award has been chosen for exhibiting in The Mall Galleries next Spring. The student concerned is George Fowkes with his photograph Reflected Art, an image of which is shown opposite. George is a talented photographer and sculptor and we are sure has an impressive future ahead and we hope that this exhibition will maybe give him a foot on the ladder to success. Well done, George! |

| Update on Young Arts activities |

The Young Arts Team has been busy in recent months. Sarah Mulligan has collected all the paintings for the Young Arts Painting Competition 2022 from the four competing schools – no mean feat as there are 550 of them! – and they have all been judged. Always an enjoyable task for the team. Unfortunately we will not be having a group presentation in the Library this year as it will be just too crowded so Sarah will be handing out prizes, badges and certificates at the individual schools. This is actually a reasonable option as the children get their prizes in front of their peers in school assembly and it keeps them all safe. The winning paintings are displayed in the Chalfont St Peter Library as usual so hopefully members and families will go and have a look at the paintings. Also keep a look out on our this website gallery for the winning paintings and lists of the winners. An art project based on the Portrait Artist of the Year Challenge set up by Meg Blunsdon with Chalfont Community College has been completed. We have drawn down the £250 grant from The Arts Society which was offered for a local arts project and CCC purchased canvasses and oil paints (which the school cannot normally afford) for the Year 13s to take part in this challenge. The Year 13s have had a particularly difficult time in the last couple of COVID years so it is nice to be able to give them a bit of a treat. The completed paintings have been displayed at The Hub, Gold Hill Baptist Church, Chalfont St. Peter for one week from 18th to 25th March and are also on our website. Any surplus from the grant will be used as a donation to The Hub. The Young Arts team are Wendy Wrigley, Sarah Mulligan and Meg Blunsdon but any more offers of help and inspiration would be welcomed. |

| Chalfont Community College winner |

The Young Arts team have been supporting primary schools in the area and Chalfont Community College for several years now but the last two years have been challenging for them and us. However, I am delighted to say that not only did the Painting Competition for the primary school children go ahead but we have been able to stay in contact, albeit virtually, with Chalfont Community College, view their sixth form art work and award a prize of £100 to their outstanding A-Level student. The prizes had to be judged virtually which probably did not do justice to the mixed-media entries but having said that we all felt that the outright winner was Alannah Gumm. We saw some of Alannah’s work last year which we considered to be outstanding but she has continued to improve on her skills. Her final pieces are in response to the theme ‘Freedom and/or Limitations’ where she tries to show the effect of Covid and the lockdown on both elderly and young people. Some canvases are big (150cm x 100cm) when she has really challenged herself. In September she will be starting on a Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London. We are all pleased that she is following this artistic path and wish her well for the future. |

| Young Arts Competition 2021 is completed! |

Despite all the disruptions from the Covid restrictions, the Young Arts Competition 2021 has been completed, judged and prizes distributed. Congratulations to all the schools involved, the 'artists' who took part and particularly to Sarah Mulligan who has been so flexible to ensure that this fabulous event was able to take place. Our particular thanks to the art teachers who were keen for their children to be involved in the competition despite all the additional work to their already tight timetables. On this occasion three schools, Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy, Chalfont St. Giles Village School and St. Mary's Gerrards Cross, took part with 360 entries. There was flexibility with materials used but all the children had the same title of My Best Day in Lockdown with great results - the winners being in the Gallery on this website. As usual all entrants received badges, the winners received canvasses of their winning painting and medals were awarded for first, second and third as well as a range of certificates. Unfortunately we were unable to have our usual combined prizegiving in the Chalfont St Peter Library. As all prizes had to be presented in the assemblies of the individual schools the three schools were judged separately. Let's hope that next year we can get back to the normal group competition that the children enjoy so much. |

| Young Arts Painting Competition 2021 continues despite all! |

STOP PRESS: THE PAINTING COMPETITION HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED TO THE SUMMER TERM. CHECK HERE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. Despite all the disruption to our lives in 2020 our Young Arts Painting Competition 2021 is going ahead as usual. Our thanks to all the schools involved for their enthusiasm. The title, fittingly, is My Best Day during Lockdown which we feel sure will produce some memorable images. We cannot be sure that our usual prize-giving will take place in the Chalfont St Peter Library but we will do our best to make a memorable event for all our winners. Keep a look out on this website for up to date information and to seeing some interesting images in the winning paintings. |

| My Favourite Day in History inspires some wonderful images for Young Arts Painting Competition 2020 |

The presentation for our Young Arts Painting Competition 2020 took place on Saturday 14th March. Despite all the ongoing concerns about the coronavirus there was a very good turnout from parents, siblings, grandparents and friends to support our prize winners. Thanks to you all. Our thanks also to Raihana Ehsanullah, Honorary Secretary to the Society who came and supported the event and handed out the prizes. This year the prizes for the top three and Best in School was a framed canvas of their painting which was received with great delight – an inspired choice by Sarah. It was all very strange with not being able to shake hands with our winners due to the virus but it was a joyous event nevertheless with some surprised winners and some tears of joy! As always, our huge thanks to Karen Dickson from the Chalfont St Peter Library and to her library volunteers for facilitating the event as well as allowing space for displaying the winners’ paintings and loading photos of these onto the rolling computer display. This is always a delight to parents and children. The title for the competition was ‘My Favourite Day in History’ and this certainly encouraged a huge range of exciting paintings some of which had an ‘interesting’ interpretation on the title ranging from the Crusades, Custer’s Last Stand, Beheading of Anne Boleyn and 9/11 Twin Towers as well as the more expected subject matter in First Landing on the Moon and the Olympic Games. Check the Gallery page to see the images. Congratulations to all the winners and also many congratulations to all the children who entered (all 450 of them) many of whom will get certificates presented to them by Sarah at their school assemblies over the next couple of weeks and all of whom will get badges. Well done! |

| Visit to the Chalfonts Community College A-Level Exhibition |

On 20th June 2019 Wendy, Sarah and Meg were delighted to be able to visit the exhibition at Chalfonts Community College art department which displayed the A-Level artwork work for this year. There were some amazing works of art in all mediums - the variety of which is shown in the Gallery on this website. We also had the pleasure of choosing a winner for the Christopher Chevasse Award for Excellence. This year unusually we chose two winners one of which was for photography. The winners were Amy Greenwood for her detailed painting/embroidery of Amsterdam and Jack Pittman for photography much of whose work depicted beautiful displays of photographs of horses and stabling. Amy's work will be entered for the RBA Star Student award which unfortunately does not accept photography yet. Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and fantastic results. Also congratulations to the hard-working art staff for presenting all the work so beautifully. |

| 2019 Presentation for Young Arts Painting Competition winners |

Today was the presentation for the Young Arts Painting Competition and we had an amazing turnout from the parents, siblings, other family members, school representatives and The Arts Society committee. The library was brimming with enthusiasm and excitement as the fifteen winners (unfortunately one winner was unable to make it) learned what prize they had won and were presented with certficates and badges for the Highly Commended; certificates, badges and prizes for the Best in School and certificates, badges, prizes and medals for the First, Second and Third prize winners. Congratulations to them all and also for the wonderful vivid works of art they produced. The topic this year was 'Rainforests' which was obviously inspiring for the children as we had some amazing work not all of which could be displayed at the Library. More certificates will be presented directly to the schools as well as badges for all the entrants. We must thank the Chalfont St Peter Library volunteer staff, particularly Karen Dickson, so much for their generosity in opening the library for the presentation. We are always happy to donate a gift which this year was a large box of biscuits to be shared as well as a book for the library stock. The winning paintings will be on display at the Library for one month and will then be returned to the proud artists at their schools. All the winning paintings are displayed in the Gallery on this website so do take the time to have a look as well some photos taken at the presentation for some happy memories. |

| Visit to Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy by Magic Lantern |

Earlier this week, The Arts Society Chiltern Young Arts funded a visit by the Magic Lantern art education charity to Chalfont St Peter Academy for their Years 5 & 6 pupils. The Magic Lantern is an amazing charity which 'uses great works of art to help children observe and explore the world around them'. They give interactive presentations of one hour to groups of up to 30 children on topics of the schools choice - in this case it was the Tudors which the children are studying at the moment. Frances Rustin from the charity in fact did three presentations to allow all the children from the year groups to attend. All three presentations were funded by The Arts Society Chiltern and were greatly enjoyed by the children who can be seen from the photograph were responding enthusiastically. We hope to be able to offer more sessions from this charity to the other schools in the area with whom we work later in the year. |

| Announcing the Schools' Painting Competition for 2019 |

At the beginning of January 2019 we start giving our presentations to the four schools which take part in our Young Arts Painting competition. This is always an exciting time and brightens up an otherwise dull time of the year. Sarah will be giving the presentations to Chalfont St. Peter Cof E Primary School, Robertswood School, Chalfont St. Giles Village School and St. Mary’s School. The competition has become an important part of the year’s art curriculum for the schools and the presentation is to ensure a level playing field in terms of ideas and stimulation. This year’s topic is ‘RAINFOREST’ which we feel sure will provide us with lots of vibrant and imaginative images from which to choose our winners. We are looking forward to the start of the competition. The prize giving will be at Chalfont St. Peter Library on Saturday 16th March where the volunteer librarians are once again kind enough to open for this event. I am sure the paintings will provide a vibrant display which will be available for two weeks after the event and remember the winners’ paintings will be on this website in the gallery after the prize giving. |

| Support for The Chalfonts Community College from The Art Society Chiltern Young Arts |

Last week Sarah and Wendy visited The Chalfonts Community College and viewed the A-Level Art work which was exhibited in preparation for the External Verifier. As in previous years, we were impressed by the quality and variety of the work in all mediums. A small sample is displayed in the Gallery on this website. We chose a winner for the Christopher Chevasse Award for Excellence cash prize of £100 which Meg presented in a ceremony later in the week. The winner was Hannah Potter chosen for the technique, range and originality of her work. Subsequently two of her paintings have been submitted by Young Arts to the Royal Society for British Artists in the hope that they are selected for display in two London galleries next year as part of the RBA support for young artists. We wish her success in the selection. One of Hannah's paintings is shown on this page. The Arts Society Chiltern Young Arts has also supported a trip to the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham for 25 children from The Chalfonts Community College by paying for the coach transport. This trip is taking place today when the weather is spectacular so hopefully a good and productive trip will be had by all. Keep an eye out in the Gallery on this website for the paintings produced as result of this outing! |

| 2018 Presentation for Young Arts Painting Competition |

Once again we must thank Karen Dickson and her wonderful team of volunteers for allowing us the use of Chalfont St. Peter Library for this event on Saturday 17th March 2018. We had a really good turnout of prize-winners, parents, grandparents and siblings and we also welcomed several teachers from the schools taking part in the competition – Robertswood, Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy, Chalfont St. Giles Village School and St. Mary’s School – who all filled the library. The sleet, snow and cold outside in no way dampened the excited and joyous atmosphere inside. We particularly enjoyed meeting the families and hearing the back-stories for the paintings produced by our winners. Perhaps we should include a brief narrative in future (as one school did) but we do not want to risk putting off the children who enjoy art but are not so good at writing stories! Our top prize-winners produced wonderful paintings which really reflected the competition’s title of My Favourite Day. The first prize went to Madison Creaby from Robertswood, the second prize went to Chiara Manzi from St. Mary’s School and the third prize went to Verity Matthews from Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy. The Best in School awards went to Lucas Crammer (Chalfont St. Peter CofE Academy), Georgia Naylor (Chalfont St. Giles Village School), Abby Dennis (Robertswood) and Maya Barnes (St. Mary’s School). In addition there were 10 Highly Commended certificates awarded at the presentation. The paintings will be on display at the library for one month and they will also be displayed on the rolling display at the entrance to the library as well as being on show on this website gallery. We had pleasure in presenting two art books to the library with our thanks. We always find it really difficult selecting the prize-winners for this competition so for the artists who did not quite make it but worthy of mention there will be thirty-five Commended certificates and nineteen Innovative certificates presented separately at the schools together with badges for all entrants. We would like to congratulate all those who entered and thank the schools for their participation. |

| Congratulations to RBA Star Student for 2018! |

Following our visit to Chalfonts Community College in June when we awarded the Christopher Chevasse prize to Phoebe Hedges, we are delighted to say that Phoebe has been given a Star Student Award as part of the RBA Star Students 2018 Competition. Her painting was submitted for the RBA’s consideration by Chiltern DFAS and is featured on this page. It is currently being framed and will be exhibited at the Royal Overseas League, St. James, London W1 from 23rd January to 8th March, then at the Framers Gallery, London W1 from 12th – 17th March and finally at the RBA’s Annual Show at the Mall Galleries to 31st March 2018. This year 39 societies submitted 272 works so this is a tremendous achievement for Phoebe and we congratulate her. Phoebe is now at Leeds Beckett University and is loving the very creative environment and studio space. We feel sure she has a great future ahead in the art world. At a more local level we are currently preparing to give four primary schools in the area presentations to inspire their entries for the Young Arts 2018 Painting Competition when the title will be ‘My Favourite Day’. Hopefully this title will give lots of scope for imagination and variation in topics. More news on that in the New Year! |

| Visit to Chalfonts Community College |

Last week Meg and Wendy were given a pre-exhibition tour of the Year 12 and A-Level artwork produced by the young people at Chalfont Community College for their exam portfolios. The standard of work was impressive as can be seen from the pictures in the website gallery which were only part of the work on display. We were there to select a winner for the Christopher Chavasse Award for 2017 which was a difficult task. We finally selected Phoebe Hedges because of the depth of work in her portfolio which was extremely well executed albeit somewhat disturbing. She was also nominated by her school to take part in A Brush with Fame which was organised by Bucks Open Studios. This was a live event in Milton Keynes where students were be paired with a celebrity and given 5 hours to paint their portrait whilst being watched by members of the general public - a challenging assignment. Phoebe’s portrait of Gary Wilmot is shown on this page. Congratulations to all the young people and especially to Phoebe who received a cheque for £100 from Meg Blunsdon on behalf of Chiltern DFAS. |

| Presentation for Young Arts Painting Competition for 2017 entitled 'Precious' |

On Saturday 18th March 2017 Meg, Sarah and Wendy had great pleasure in welcoming our young winners in the 2017 CDFAS Young Arts Painting Competition to a presentation at the Chalfont St. Peter Library. Not only were we able to welcome our winners but also a large number of their families and siblings who were all proud to see the children presented with certificates, medals and prizes. The Chairman of CDFAS, Dr. Gill Hutchison was present to hand out the awards and also other members of the CDFAS committee, Dr Raihana Ehsanullah and Mrs Nicola Burns were able to attend – a fine display of support for this delightful event. The theme for this year’s competition was ‘Precious’. This title was the same as that for the NADFAS Young Arts Chairman’s Competition so that we were able to forward some of our best paintings for this award as well. We will look forward to hearing if any of our young talents are included in the national prizes. This theme produced a wide range of subject matter from pets, families, friends and precious possessions to environmental subjects such as tigers and the sea. All the winning paintings are displayed in the Gallery section of this website - do take a look to see some artists of the future. The Gold winner this year was Sophie Simmons with her charming portrait of her much loved spaniel, Hope. The Silver winner was Emilia Williams with her family portrait. Her family attended the prize giving and we were able to see that Emilia had achieved remarkable likenesses for them all. The Bronze winner was Georgia Wheatcroft with her portrait of dog training with her cat in attendance. They were all delightful paintings which were well executed as well as displaying a warmth and emotion worthy of the title of ‘Precious’. We also welcomed the School Prize winners – Maya Barnes, St. Mary’s School; Alex Riley, Chalfont St. Giles Village School; Bhavneen Channa, Robertswood and Daniel Topliss, Chalfont St. Peter CoE Academy - and the Highly Commended winners to the presentation to receive their certificates and prizes. Certificates in the categories of Commended, Innovative Use of Paint and Special Mention will be presented at the participating schools before the Easter break together with badges for all entrants. Once again we must give special thanks to the volunteer staff at the Chalfont St. Peter Library for welcoming us and providing us with the perfect venue for the prize-giving as well as displaying the paintings for one month in the library. We were again able to present the library with two art books with our thanks to boost their stock. |

| A happy reminder of Stanley Spencer! |

This is a reminder of a wonderful visit made by a party of twenty-five Year 12 students from Chalfont Community College to the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham. The group was organised by CDFAS Young Arts and they were able to go along free because of the Society’s links with the Gallery. The visit was on a very wet day in June when, accompanied by Meg Blunsdon, Chairman of CDFAS Young Arts and Gill Hutchison, Chairman of CDFAS, the group of students first visited the gallery and viewed the paintings. Following which they did the ‘walk’ around Cookham taking in all the places Stanley Spencer painted including his house. They were led by Paul Grandidge from the Gallery who spoke with great enthusiasm and knowledge at each venue. The ‘walk’ really brought the paintings to life making it a truly magical visit – despite the rain - which the students all loved. Their enthusiasm and inspiration can be seen by the standard of work they completed on their return from the trip which is displayed in the website gallery. |

| Competition for 2017 now in progress |

As Autumn is now upon us, it is time for the Young Arts Committee to think about Spring and the next painting competition! This is an important competition as it regularly attracts about 450 entries from the four involved schools – a large number of children and families to whom to spread the CDFAS word. We now have an established format which works for us and the schools. We create a Powerpoint presentation with a range of ideas around the title, some examples of well-known artists, an explanation of a painting technique as well as details of the final presentation and of course the CDFAS website for the winners to view their paintings. This is formally presented to each school by one of our members and then the USB stick is left with the school for them to use at will. This system has meant that we get a wide range of ideas and techniques in the entries. This year our title is ‘Precious’ which is the same as the one use used for the national competition. This will give our winners a chance of not only competing in the CDFAS competition but also being entered for the NADFAS Young Arts National Competition. Our presentation will encourage the children to think beyond the interpretation of ‘precious’ by monetary value but also to think of family, pets, memories, etc which might be precious to them. We should get some interesting and exciting results. |

| Update on CDFAS Young Arts Summer 2016 Activities |

In June this year The Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham hosted another group organised by CDFAS Young Arts. This year the group was from The Chalfonts Community College and consisted of 21 students aged seventeen to eighteen years of age accompanied by five members of staff. The Gallery provided transport and Meg Blunsdon from Young Arts joined the students in the coach whilst Gill Hutchison the Chairman of CDFAS met the group at the Gallery. Paul Grandidge who is in charge of Education at the Gallery gave an excellent introductory talk in which, after a slow start, the students fully engaged. This was followed by a tour of the village of Cookham visiting the places depicted in Sir Stanley’s paintings. Despite the rain the students were enthusiastic. Following this rather damp tour, Meg and Gill retreated to a warm coffee shop whilst the students split into two groups - one of photographers and one of painters – and we look forward to seeing the work produced! The winner of the Christopher Chavasse Award for 2016 was Oliver Harper of the Chalfonts Community College. He is indeed a worthy winner as can be seen from his work shown on this page and in the gallery on this site. On leaving the College Oliver will be following a Foundation Year Course in Coventry before doing a Fine Arts Degree. Oliver’s work has been entered into the RBA/NADFAS painting competition 2017. If chosen he will have his work exhibited at the Lloyds Gallery and The Mall Gallery. The College have submitted some further works for the painting competition, photos of which are also displayed on the website gallery. Our thoughts are starting to turn to the highly successful annual CDFAS Young Arts painting competition for 2017. We will be using the same theme of ‘Precious’ as the NADFAS Painting Competition 2017 so that our winners can be entered for both competitions. We wish them success. Full details of our competition will be put on the website in the Autumn. |

| A New Year and a New Competition! |

Now that we are well into the New Year we have our annual local schools painting competition under way. This year the title is ‘Springtime’ which hopefully will give plenty of scope for young imaginations. There are four schools taking part and Meg accompanied by either Sarah or Wendy has delivered a power point presentation to the children in all the schools to inspire and inform them.
The presentation showed a variety of images of springtime including sunshine and rain, a range of baby animals (drawing lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the children), Easter images and some of the major artists’ representations of spring ranging from Monet to Dali. Meg did a painting of her own as well! This demonstrated the process of producing a painting from setting up her materials to sketching the plan, doing the background and finally the completed painting which is displayed on this page - a perfect image of spring to provide inspiration. Memory sticks of the presentation have been left with the individual schools so that they can be used in class if the teacher wishes.
We are now excited about getting the results in. The children's work will be collected before half-term. Then the hard work starts for us all in the judging, mounting, photographing, displaying, buying prizes, ordering medals and badges and producing certificates ready for the prize giving at the Chalfont St. Peter Library on Saturday 19th March. After the presentation we will be loading images of the winning paintings on this website so look out for those. |

| Congratulations to our RBA Scholar! |

We are delighted to announce that Alison Quinn Cottrell’s artwork entitled ‘Wind’ has been selected for exhibition at the Lloyds Register Gallery as an RBA Scholar. Alison was a student at the Chalfont Community College where they were invited by Chiltern DFAS Young Arts to select artwork suitable for submission to the RBA Council. Fifty five NADFAS societies submitted 348 works of art from 89 schools from which Alison was selected as a scholar and one of only 22 entrants whose work was worthy of exhibition. Alison’s work will be exhibited at the Lloyds Register Gallery from 11th February to 11th March 2016 and then at the RBA’s Annual Show at the Mall Galleries from 17th March to 2nd April 2016. In addition to the prestige of having her work exhibited by the RBA, Alison will receive an RBA Scholars Certificate. All the artwork selected for the exhibition can be viewed by clicking on the following link: http://nadfas.net/rba-nadfas-scholars-2016 Our congratulations to Alison and the Chalfont Community College for this success and we wish Alison well in her future art studies. |
